We occasionally exchange animals for trades of other animals or equipment. *See our list of wanted species and equipment.
Sales
All sales on live animals are final and non-refundable. Refunds will not be given for any animals paid for in part or in full under any circumstances. Be sure that you want and can afford to care for the animal before purchasing. When purchasing an animal, you are also agreeing to wait for safe shipping conditions to receive the animal. Shipping delays will not constitute a reason to cancel an order. No refunds will be given for delayed shipping and/or lack of ability of the buyer to receive the animal during a safe shipping period.
Should you wish to cancel your order before the gecko has left our facility, store credit will be given for the amount paid minus a 20% fee. See below for explanation of the purpose of this fee.
*The 20% fee is in place to discourage customers from changing their minds on which gecko(s) they want as this can result in a problematic and unfair situation for other customers who may have wanted a previously sold gecko. It is unfair for a customer to choose their second choice gecko only to have their first choice become available again at a later date due to a cancelled order.
We do offer to take animals back as a service to customers on a case-by-case basis as space allows. We do not offer refunds on returned animals. We have no control over what the animal may have been exposed to while out of our care so they cannot simply be re-integrated back into our facility. All funds made towards the purchase of any animals taken back are forfeited as it is very costly and time-consuming for us to quarantine and get veterinary care for returned animals.
Payment Plans
Payment plans of up to 3 months are offered on orders of $200 or more. Longer payment plans may be available for orders over $600 (not including shipping costs). Please contact us if you are interested in placing a hold on a gecko as we will need to remove the gecko from the sales page. Holds will not be placed until deposit is received.
A deposit of 20% of the purchase price of the gecko is required for the hold to be placed. Deposits are non-refundable. If at any time you change your mind about wanting the gecko(s) on hold, any amount paid will automatically be turned into a store credit minus the non-refundable 20% deposit. Credit cannot be used to hold another gecko, but can be used to pay for a gecko in full or to purchase supplies offered for sale by Nightshift Exotics. *See "Sales" section above for explanation of purpose of the non-refundable 20% deposit or fee.
Shipping
Shipping is arranged through Ship Your Reptiles (SYR) and is a flat rate charge of $60.00 on any shipment, regardless of the number of animals purchased. We add SYR's "on-time/live arrival" insurance to all our shipments, no exceptions.
Shipping is only done in the Continental USA. No Alaska, Hawaii or out-of-country shipments, including Canada.
Once an animal is paid for in full, at no additional charge, we are willing to hold said animal(s) until shipping weather is good and temperatures are in a safe range for the life and health of the animal(s) being shipped. We will only ship when the overnight and daytime temperatures on both ends and at all hubs along the way are between 40 and 80 degrees. A heat or cool pack will be provided as needed per our discretion.
Most deliveries arrive by 10:30AM, but remote areas can have a later delivery time, depending on how far you are from your local FedEx hub. We are not responsible for carrier delays or other issues with the carrier. Shipping directly to a local hub for pickup is possible if you will not be home to receive the package or if weather conditions are not ideal.
Shipping is done Monday through Wednesday, no exceptions. Shipments later in the week have the potential to be held over the weekend without delivery. This is unsafe for the gecko(s).
Once payment has been received in full and the purchase form has been completed and submitted, we will contact you to arrange shipping and confirm that all information is correct. Confirmation also must be made that someone will be there the day of shipping to receive the package.
We are willing to meet up within a reasonable distance for local sales and occasionally make trips out-of-state and to various reptile shows where we can deliver geckos. Meet-ups are agreed upon on a case-by-case basis. We do not allow customers to pick up animals at our facility.
Guarantees
Animals are guaranteed to arrive alive and healthy. A person must be present at the time of delivery to receive the package or these guarantees are void.
If there are any issues with an animal upon arrival, we must be notified within two hours of delivery. If an animal is dead-upon-arrival (DOA) or has any issues covered by our health guarantee, photographic proof is required within those two hours for a replacement or store credit to be given. We may require that the animal be shipped back to us for further investigation.
Very rarely, geckos in shipping will drop their tails due to stress. This has no affect on their health, quality nor breeding ability. No compensation will be offered in the case of a lost tail.
Any animal that is described as “Male” or “Female” is guaranteed to be sexed properly. Anything sold as “probable” or "possible" is not sex guaranteed. Pore sexing is done with a 60x loupe and only attempted after the gecko has reached a minimum weight.
Our health guarantee is valid for up to two weeks. If the animal falls ill within this time period, we require it to be sent back and a store credit will be issued or an equal-in-value animal substituted. Nightshift Exotics will cover shipping charges in the event that an ill animal needs to be returned. Photographic proof and/or documentation from a qualified veterinarian will be required. The health guarantee does not include outside injuries or issues related to the gecko's environment in your care. *Returning animals without first contacting us will void this guarantee.
Examples of injuries and issues not covered are (but are not limited to): cat/dog attacks, burns, cuts and scrapes, getting caught in an enclosure door, feeder insect bites, choking on feeder insects, compaction from substrate ingestion, tail loss, over-heating, stuck sheds and toe/tail necrosis from improper environment/humidity, skin conditions / scale rot / sepsis from a continuously wet enclosure, failure to eat due to being offered a different brand or type of food than Nightshift Exotics feeds, dehydration, falls, exposure to molds, cleaning solutions, chemicals or other environmental irritants in their new environment, and injuries sustained from cage-mates.
Our animals are raised on Pangea Fruit Mix Complete (all flavors), Black Panther Zoological gecko diets (Original and ColorBomb) with calcium and vitamin dusted Blaptica dubia and soldier fly larvae offered as supplementation. Pangea Complete Gecko Diet is the main staple food we feed our geckos. The other diets are mixed in on a rotating schedule and small numbers of insects are offered once or twice per week.
We will gladly provide additional photos upon request. We do our best to take photos that best show the gecko's true color and to provide the most accurate and up-to-date representation of the animals offered for sale, however it is nearly impossible to guarantee the final adult color or pattern. An animal’s color can change depending on stress, mood, and as it matures. The pattern can change as the gecko ages as well, with the possibility of either increasing or decreasing, and the possibility that spots may develop over time. Please also keep in mind that colors can appear differently from one computer screen to the next. We will not refund or replace a gecko due to future color/pattern changes the gecko may exhibit with age or varying conditions.
Gecko genetics are guaranteed to come from the parents listed, unless non-specified or from an outside breeder. We occasionally sell geckos purchased from other breeders and cannot guarantee the information they have provided us. Geckos produced by other breeders will have the breeder of origin noted in their listing.
Females sold as virgin are guaranteed to be so. They are not placed with males for any length of time. Virgin females can still lay eggs, but these eggs will not be fertile or may be parthenogenic. Animals sold as proven have produced live offspring in the past.
